On arrival as Los Angeles and having stay for two three days on the last part of our USA tour it was obvious for us to visit Hollywood, a craze in the the minds of millions to visit and see.  As such we planned Hollywood trip.

We went there by our own car and had self driven tour of the hollywood hill station the most famous point to take photographs of hollywood hills and the big hilly residential areas where many stars of film industy live peacefully. We had a great memorable photo shots and we enjoyed the hilly pictorious surrounding around us, the lush green hills around with a very big white color mark of Hollywood on the top of one of the top hills in the area.
Hollywood is a neighborhood in Central Los Angeles, California, and the historic heart of the American film industry. Its name has become synonymous with the American film industry and the people associated with it. Many notable film studios such as Universal Pictures, Skydance Motion Picture Group, Walt Disney Studios and Sony Pictures are located in or near Hollywood.
On the way to hollywood we could see number of studios and various arts, drama and dacning schools, thus preparing for the staff for the hollywood.

In the early 1900s, most motion picture cameras and equipment patents were held by Thomas Edison's Motion Picture Patents Company in New Jersey, which often sued filmmakers to stop their productions. To escape this, filmmakers began moving to Los Angeles, where attempts to enforce Edison's patents were easier to evade. Also, the weather was ideal for filmmaking and there was quick access to various settings. Los Angeles became the capital of the film industry in the United States. The mountains, plains and low land prices made Hollywood a good place to establish film studios

Being  the evening time we had a grand picture of sunset from hollywood. After roaming around the spot for photo shoot,we moved forward to the residential area of Hollywood.  We had been travelling around in the narrow lanes with great, beautiful, bungalows owned by film industry people on the both sides.  Every plot or residence was full green with number of big trees, ,and specially made cover in front of the estate or bungalow by a big green bushes or spirally winding going upward shrubs , like a big gate or canvass or screen of green leaves, which does not allow any glimpses inside that property from outside.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historic public sidewalk landmark in Los Angeles, California  , featuring more than 2,800 embedded terrazzo and brass stars that honor achievements in the entertainment industry. It is open for public visit twenty four hours seven days a week. It is also free. Selected recipients (or their sponsors) pay a fee of $50,000 for star creation, installation, and maintenance.

Then we had a big walk on the hollyhwood walk of fame street. It is very famous areas for visitors to walk on the footpath of the roads, where you would find hundreds of notable personalities from film industry of USA on the name plate ficed to the tile on the road in pink color.  We could locate of President of USA too there, but few people have damaged it now with some anger in mind for him.

I could see Louis Joudan- a french film and  television actor who came to usa in 1946.Louis Jourdan was a French film and television actor. He was known for his suave roles in several Hollywood films, including Alfred Hitchcock's The Paradine Case, Letter from an Unknown Woman, Gigi, The Best of Everything, The V.I.P.s and Octopussy.  Along with him hundreds of others were on the street.

Then we had a round of beautiful market located on the both sides of the walk of the fame street.  There are numerous big shops selling variety of items  like  goggles, hats, dresses, ladies fashion jewellary, toys, books, and many more. The special attraction was golden beautiful tropies of Hollywood on sale. I could locate it for different persons like for best father, mother, brother, sister, son, etc.  It was a grant idea to have one .  As my sons birthday was nearing, i bought a very beautiful hollywood trophy named My Best Son as a special gift to him as parent.  I kept it a secret till the time of actual celebration on that one particular night in Los Angeles.

Then we has a short stop at Beverly Hills,in the city of Los Angeles county,California. In American pupular culture,Beverly Hills has been known as an affluent suburb within Greater Los Angeles, which corresponds to higher property values and taxes in the area.. The city is well known for its Rodeo drive  shopping district that includes many desugber  brands. Throughout its history, the city has been home to many celebrities. Lake Powell and Horseshoe Bend

 Lake Powell-

After completing our site seeing of grand canyon we went ahead to see the famous Lake Powell.  We could go near to the lake powel and saw it from the upper part of the lake.  We had not actually gone into lower part of the lake for any activity, as we did not have sufficient time.  Even from a long distance we could have a marvelous view, beautiful  show of nature on the canvass of Grand Canyon. We enjoyed photo sessions here also.

This man-made reservoir, located in northern Arizona and southern Utah, is a great spot for travelers seeking nature and outdoor adventure.Lake Powell is famous because it is the second largest artificial reservoir in the United States, known for its stunning red rock sandstone canyons and massive role in western water.  However by the time we visited that water level has gone down, as appearing from the long distance.

Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona, United States. It is a major vacation destination visited by approximately two million people every year. It is very famous fishing point too.

After visiting the Lake for a while we move forward to see the main attraction nearby known as Horseshoe Bend .

Horseshoe Bend -

Horseshoe Bend is a stunning, deep horseshoe-shaped curve carved by the Colorado River, located just outside the town of Page, Arizona. After parking the care at the expected parkin slot, we have go on walking for a pretty long distance and time.  almost 50 minutes to one hour walking in involved for going to see the Horseshoe Bend.   The road is good but also full of sand over it, so naturally our speed of walking get reduced considerably.   Further Due to Heat people are advised to use big hats and carry water for drinking .

Fortunately on the day we visited Horseshoe Bend the climate was nice, not much hot, and it was also second half of the day, and not much hot.  We could walk comfortably.  It was really very difficult after visiting grand canyon to take such a long walking route.  We had planned it on second day, but had to cover it up on the same day due to paucity of time.

It is open for public seven days of the week from sunrise to sunset.  The everning time is better due to weather conditions.  The walking distance is about 1.5 miles from the parking slot.  Over millions of years, the Colorado River cut nearly 1000 feet into the Navajo sandstone of the Colorado Plateau, carving a horseshoe- shaped curve so dramtic it defied belief.

Over millions of years, the Colorado River cut nearly 1,000 feet into the Navajo sandstone of the Colorado Plateau, carving a horseshoe-shaped curve so dramatic it defies belief. Today, a 0.6-mile hard-packed sand trail leads from the parking lot to the rim — one of the most awe-inspiring views in the American West.

Located 5 miles south of Page, AZ, Horseshoe Bend sits within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

Note: It’s a 1,000-foot drop to the river below. Use caution while walking near the edge.

The shoe typed cutting of the surrounding hills by the colorado river over the crores of years is worth seeing.  It is a marvelous view of nature. From top we can see in front of us U shaped hills carved out by the river.  The river is very big and wide too.  The water appears completely green, but we can see from upper position that water is literally moving in the river.

The trail starts to the right of the information panel and climbs to the top of a sandy knoll. From here, you can see the rest of the path ahead of you. Follow the gentle slope down the far side of the hill all the way to the rim of the cliffs. Near 0.2 mile you pass a shade structure on the right (the only shade on the whole hike), and beyond that the trail crosses alternating patches of slick rock and sand dunes out to the overlook.

Unique Features
  • Stunning Drop: The overlook sits roughly 1,000 feet (305 meters) above the rushing green-blue waters of the Colorado River.
  • Geological History: Known as an incised meander, it formed millions of years ago when the Colorado Plateau uplifted and trapped the winding river in its deep bed.
  • Vibrant Colors: The striking contrast between the orange-red Navajo sandstone and the emerald-green river creates a world-famous, highly photogenic view
