Niagara Falls Tour
We had the most memorable, thrilling experience of tour of Naigara Falls. Naigara Falls is a combination of three giant size waterfalls on the border of the United States of New york and the Canadian Province of Ontario. The largest is the Horseshoe Falls, flanked by the smaller American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. Millions visit to see the huge volume of rushing water.
Maid of the Mist –
We four had stood in the line and waiting for our turn to come for sitting in the big boat which was about to take near the Naigara Falls. Fortunately we got the seats in the first chance. If we had been a late by few minutes might have required to wait for a long time. After getting into the gigantic boat, we all preferred to the upper floor of the deck on the boat. It was full of all people eager to embark upon a memorable voyage of Naigara falls. While going through the river we could visualize the astonishing large volume of falls and equally large river bed, never seen before in the life. Though the ticket for the ferry was 100 dollars per person, there was lot of rush. before entering into the boat every passenger was given a blur color raincoat to wear, as without it you would be fully weight in the massive flow of water coming out from the falls. we immediately wore those blue raincoats and took our seats in the boat. We went to the corner of the boat to have a first hand view of adjacent natural beauty. We were amazed to see the voluminous falls coming down from the hills from a very long distance.
The Scenic view of naiagara falls is really a unique one. The high flowing wind carried the water from the falls into air like a most biggest fountains , showering clean, cold water on our body in the form of hundreds of showers. One becomes completely wet in the fountain water. However the raincoats we use protect us to certain extent , but major portion or our dress becomes completely wet in the process. The couples and youngsters were seen enjoying a lot of fun, the elderly were aware of the age and had been quite calm while enjoying the same. The boat took us around the fall in different ways and we had a wonderful glimpses different at each location. We could see thousands of sea gulls- black and white roaming in the sky , diving down in the water for getting fish and silently swimming in the waterfalls. After a drive of about hour or so, we got down from the boats. While rerturning from boat we have to eight return the raincoats or can carry with you . I preferred to carry it on as a memory of naigara falls visit.
While travelling through the boat we could see on the other side of the river big boats with thousands of people on board, with red color raincoats on their bodies. On inquiry it was revealed that it was the Canadian part, portion of the waterfall, all those boats and visitors were from Canada. The Naigara river separates the states of New York and Canada in between the river and falls.
The water was clean and blue. We could see many fishes in the water. Lot of white and black sea gulls were roaming around in the sky and above water, some tactfully fetching their food fish by straight jumping in the river water. It was a great pictorials scene .
Audubon designated the Niagara River Corridor as an Important Bird Area (IBA) in 1996, the first internationally-recognized area in the world. The river supports thousands of wintering gull and waterfowl species.
The Niagara River ecosystems support many of New York State’s protected animal species. This includes the lake sturgeon, along with the peregrine falcon and American bald eagle.
When the boat went near the first of the three falls, we were thrilled by the spray of the water coming through air on our bodies, all of us fully drenched in the water. Though initially we enjoyed it, when its flow and volume became bigger, it was somewhat frightening too. We never expected such a big flow of water getting poured on us from various sides due to winds and water falls.
We had visited and seen with great closeness all the three world known falls from the Naigara falls. It was stunning, thrilling, mesmerizing, unique experience for all of us. We were at the top of our joy and i in person felt as the goal of life is attained after seeing this nature's mistery. The first fall was comparatively small, the second one most wide, big, gigantic and ferocious too. The third one was big but comparatively smaller than the second one.
An astounding 3,160 tons of water flows over Niagara Falls every second. This accounts for 75,750 gallons of water per second over the American and Bridal Veil Falls and 681,750 gallons per second over the Horseshoe Falls

This was the first time in history that alternating current was transmitted over a long distance. It is the biggest hydro electric project of USA and Canada.
Cave of the Winds –
Wooden decks on the U.S. side that put visitors close to Bridal Veil Falls.
This is a special trip for which we got booking for the last ride scheduled at 7.30 p.m.. As there was some time in between, and home stay was quite near, we decided to go back to home, have some rest, tea and then return in the evening to have a tour of Cave of Winds. And later on have a nights lighting show of Naigara Falls.
We reached time at the booking office Naigara Falls . and at dott 7.30 allowed to be inside. Here also before going into the boat, every passenger is given a yellow color rain coat to protect self from big , tremendous flow of water, coming from the falls on our body due to high winds etc. We all wore those yellow raincoats and boarded on the boat meant for it. It was a unique experience , We were driven very very close to the naigara falls. We could take out our hands from the boat and literally put it in the waterfalls. It was so close. It was a very amazing, satisfying, mesmerizing experience we had. While going nearthe water fall , we had to climb a wooden structure specifically build for it. It is very much sturdy to accommodate so many people at a time. We need to be very cautious while climbing the wooden structure, staircase, as it is completely well,slippery too. We all climbed the staircase and enjoyed our presence near the falls on the table type top made for it. We literally enjoyed the pouring of water on us . That time i remembered the iconic scene of very old famous hindi film of Sangam produced by Raj Kapoor, starring raj kapoor, vaijayantimala, and rajendra kumar. Here at this place while visiting and touring USA of three of them, they loose each other on this particular bridge, where the heroine Vaijayantimala goes on calling the name of his lover boy friend and the boy friend calling the name of Radha. After fully enjoying the close visinity of the Naigara falls, we returned back to the area where from we had started.
Then our scheduled visit to night’s lighting program was at 10.00 p.m/. we had some time in between. We took rest in the nearby gardens in the area, had some food and the went ahead exactly at 10.00 pm to view closely the nights lightening program. It was fully crowded. It was mesmerizing all along. The whole atmosphere was charged with colorful scenes of the falls in front of us .
Since 1925, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board (NFIB) has provided nightly illumination of Niagara Falls for all to enjoy. This illumination includes a range of colors that alternate throughout the evening and shine over all of Niagara Falls.
Every evening beginning at dusk, Niagara Falls is transformed into an incredible, multi-colored water and light masterpiece.
Special lights are housed in the Illumination Tower, next to Queen Victoria Place; on the roof of Table Rock Center, at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls; and deep in the Niagara Gorge, across from the American Falls. Together, these lights work to create a breathtaking view not to be missed. The falls are also lit in custom colors for short duration to mark significant dates in support of charitable causes. We had seen the all the three falls in various colorful, glittering lights- red, blue, green, yellow and different combinations and permutations of colors everywhere. It was an amazing scene. Everybody was busy picturising that colorful falls in front of them. We also took lot of photos, selfies and groups photos and individuals too.
