Aspen Trail, Flagstaff
We all four were highly excited to visit the Aspen Trail, when Akshay informed us of the great forest full of variety of trees, flowers, pine trees jungle etc. It is very famous among the ones who enjoy long walk on hills and forests. We could see variety of trees, in different shapes and sizes, different floral plants and multiple high rising trees, very thick and tall, spread everywhere around.

From the edge of the forest, a dirt path cuts through a bed of ferns, which spread across the floor like an assembly of lime-green lion’s mane jellyfish. The aspens are joined by spruce and firs, which help create an aviary for an assortment of birds, including flickers, jays, juncos and warblers. After 15 minutes of overall hiking, the trail dips out of the woods for a couple hundred yards before dropping back in. Where the trail re-enters the forest, the loop portion of the hike begins. Like all loops, you can approach this one from either direction. The trail passes through aspen groves and mixed conifer forests with fir, pine, and spruce, offering cool shade and seasonal color. Look for mule deer, Steller’s jays, woodpeckers, and other forest wildlife along the way. Enjoy beautiful views, quiet forest sections, and some rocky stretches that require careful footing.

We could locate number of small bushes and trees with flowers of different colors and sizes. Many of the indian species also we could see in this forest.
We could enjoy comparatively cool breeze in the thick forests. we could see number of men, women, young boys and girls entering in the forests with sticks in their hands. The trail is considered easy, it is a fairly even dirt trail with some rocky spots but it’s not steep. The most beautiful part of the trail was at the beginning, after you cross the open meadow you’re immediately surrounded by towering aspen trees. The trail weaves through the grove for about 0.5 mile and then opens up again into the meadow. At this point most of the aspens are behind you but it’s still a beautiful trail.
We enjoyed lot of photographs, groups photos, selfies etc, in lush green forest atmosphere, which was feeling very unique. We had best time walking in lush green forest for an hour and half. A memorable forest walk after a long time i enjoyed.
